"The weather was perfect... seven days of sun, sun, and more sun! Nice lake breeze... everything was excellent... the movies in the evenings to occupy the kids, cable TV (since they don't have it), and Super Nintendo (another plus). Water skiing, tubing, jet bobbing, and the jet ski rental for the day was great. The best fun had by all was the many fish the kids caught off the dock or by the reeds. They caught them so fast, we couldn't get them off the lines quickly enough. Biking to the Dairy Queen, going to Torgy's for a late night drink, and winning $200 at pull tabs was a great bonus. Can't say enough - all was great! Thanks for the memories." |

"Words cannot express what a wonderful time we had... from the very first time we walked onto the south deck, until the final evening enjoying the southerly breeze on the very same deck. We cannot tell you how much we enjoyed The Hermitage! The weather was an absolute '10' all week. We enjoyed the lake by fishing, pontooning, swimming, and jet skiing! "This was our 3rd annual WAGALOONYSVENSKA (Wendell's All Getting Together At Lake Minnewaska (previously Lake Miltona) On Our Nostalgic Yearly Sentinel Voyage Excluding Nerds, Screwballs, Kooks, And Boneheads!!) By FAR the best accommodations and best turnout (nobody wanted to leave). Mike has been ice fishing here for a few years and has gotten to know some locals - introducing us to them. That made it very special. We hope to come for ice fishing this winter and our 4th Wagaloony. We loved it!!" |

"We very much enjoyed our time at your home. Your parents are very easy people to work with, and a trip to their farm was a highlight of our trip! He's built a life for himself with his hands and raised a great family - what more can you do? My son, age 9, caught his first fish on his new rod and reel. We had a great time on Woodlawn's pontoon boat, and just toured the whole area. As a history "nut" I really enjoyed the old plates. What a family legacy! And related to a President!! You even have one of my own "claims to fame". My uncle is Vincent Bugliosi and you have one of his books. He tried and convicted Charles Manson in the Sharon Tate murders. The other is that my Grandma from Hibbing, used to have Bob Dylan over for Italian cooking often. Thanks again!" |

"The house was perfect with the downstairs bedroom for my father who has problems moving around. The teens loved the bunk room. The +18 year-olds loved the basement because they had their own space. And my sweetheart and I loved waking up in the morning to the view of the trees and the lake. Everyone enjoyed reading the history pieces and looking at the photos throughout the house. They added to the whole experience. Your mother was a dear, and it was nice to know she was nearby if we needed something. Again, thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us. Each of us left there with irreplaceable memories that we will have for the rest of our lives. |
